ALL,
When I been using the BCD3000 for about 6 months now, I see and hear the freezes also, however today It occurred to me that in the Behringer FAQ's regarding the BCD's 2K and 3K, that there was an issue with the Behringer's sound driver and computers/laptops that had dual processors. I typed MSCONFIG went to BOOT /ADVANCED button / check marked NUMBER OF PROCESSORS / Selected ONE/ and restarted everything. SO far (still testing) with only one processor allowed to work I had a freeze when ever i first started it, and whenever the UAC (User Access Control ), or anything using video, ex screen saver, when your screen gets dimmed by windows etc. as far as that if you can limit those sort of things, i was beating it up pushing buttons playing special effects the whole group, and not a stutter!! Fluke perhaps, who knows, but for the time being it seems to be a seriously good progression. Let me know if there is supplemental proof out there of this actually being the culprit!! Thanks and happy tunez!

PS
MAKE SURE W IFI IS TURNED OFF
I will use this post to update my toying results!
Hopefully I can do Behringer justice by making workarounds to their sound drivers and PC's

I just started using VDJ about a month ago. I have the bcd2000 and I can't stand these freezes. I started with 5.0, and I just got 5.2 (hoping that the freezing would stop). It is embarrassing at parties to have to reset your stuff in the middle of a song.
Is the CPU fix still working for you groove? I will try that tonight and see how it goes.

disable the video card also
seemed to reduce latency (source for freezing)

SOLUTION!!!
Short introduction:
MY SYSTEM:
XPS M1330
2.5 GHz
Simgatel Audio
Gforce 8400M GS @ 1200x800
Working with BCD2000
I have many freezing problems with this configuration. I figured out that default VDJ skin: Internal Mixer working in 1024x768 resolution but my laptop have native resolution 1280x800. I changed skin and choose another but dedicated to 1280x800 resolution (example: Pioneer CDJ1000 v4 1280x800 skin). WORKS PERFECT! without any freeze even if I minimalize a program. I also switched off POWERMIZER in Nvidia Setup
Resuming:
Skin size is very important to system stability!
Maybe AtomicTeam will explain that issue....

further more to add to all the posts
I use the BCD3000 on a Dell Inspiron E1705 Dual Core
I have the freezing problems also, I also toy with the option to use it for an actual computer and a DJ Laptop since I am not made of money.
What I have found is the following:
1. The sound, USB,Video apparently all intersect somewhere on the motherboard and share paths.
solution: Go to DEVICE MANAGER and RIGHT CLICK on the VIDEO CARD, DISABLE. It all goes primitive and ugly, however the latency
meter I use doesnt lie. Low latency means no freeze.
additional solution: DISABLE UAC (User Access Control) by typing MSCONFIG in the search on the start button once open go to the
TOOLS TAB, scroll down till you see "Disable UAC" and click the LAUNCH button at the bottom, and last RESTART
reason being is that UAC puts all the things that are running on pause, hence killing your masterpiece.
2. If you are rich and still like to Dj with a laptop you may go ahead and use the laptop solely for the purpose of VDJ. On this laptop you
will disable the following: Sound, video, wireless, colors etc, anything you may just flat out not use. Software on the laptop should
only be : Windows, VDJ - no antivirus, firewalls, nothing Windows, music VDJ and drivers required for your hardware controller only!
This was 99% successful for my setup, and aside from a flatout crash or something I did stupid, The music keeps playing!!!

Also buying the software rather than using cracked versions will seriously improve your stability!!

FIRST OFF
YOU GOTTA HAVE A GOOD PC AND OS. I USE UNATTENDED WINDOWS XP PRO BLACK EDITION RTM ALLOWING YOU TO DISABLE BACKROUND XP CRAP THAT DOESNT NEED TO RUN....(SCREW VISTA) AND I HAVE A TOSHIBA SATELLITE P105-S6147 "FACTORY"
If anyone has the same issue with bcd2000 and virtual dj freezing whether music still plays or not: turn your wifi off... I freekt out 4 a while before i realized this. Make sure no internet connection is available while you r mixing...
e-mail if need. mademuzik@live.com
if u are using version 5.2 pro u should try without any extra mappers and the 4 knobs over effect buttons control knobs 1+2 for each effect. (which didnt before or with the mappers installed). also turn off keyboard shortcuts... it could accidentally kill your set! i am very loyal to this mixer - and this software - now im rockin the Tampa bay area... HI HATERS!!!!!!! I MAKE SALES FOR VDJ... IM ALMOST READY TO START TEACHING IT! GIMMIE THE LOOT!! LOL
THE PROBLEM CAME WHEN I STARTED USING WIFI. I NEVER DID BECAUSE I HAVE A NET BOOK ALSO SO I SEGREGATED THE TOSHIBA FOR JUST DJ'ING. SO I NEVER HAD ISSUES SPINNIN' UNTILL THE WIFI WAS TURNED OFF. AND PS U GOTTA MAKE SURE THERE S NO NET CONNECTION.
PEACE - IM GOIN2MIX - ON $150.00 MEAN MACHINE

i am running on windows xp, sp3, all installed programs are running as well. i can use my bcd 2000, all the knobs and buttons (except for phones volume as i use my laptop sound card for it). never had a problem recently, never crashed or stopped working. i guess the set up should be:
inputs: NONe
outputs: headphones (master:chan 1&2; headphones 3&4)
sound card: ASIO driver with ASIO4ALL v2 selected
i did this set up because running on bcd2000 sound card alone, an error would appear saying there is not enough channels. and i use my laptop sound card as the monitor output because on the bcd2000 headphones output, the same music i can hear from the master output. in this way its not very hard on the bcd2000. so no crashes..
any ideas where i can use the bcd2000 headphones output to monitor the next music? help me with some tips on the set up please
