I am having the same issue. I am using the full pro version. I have a X4 Duo Core 2.33 Mhz and 3 GB of ram on Win XP sp2.
The if I use the Herc DJ controler as my sound card it is bad sound right off the bat but the other drivers have the same issue after a time.

If your having problems with VD, you should really see your doctor. There are pills to help with this kind of problem!
