As much as I can’t stand PCDJ, they do have that going for them. It seem like a no brainier but remember, this software is geared up for the Club V & DJ’s. Don’t get me wrong, I love VDJ and would not use anything else but, I’d like to see a little more attention for us KJ/DJ’s

First I used bpmstudio.
It's the same software like 10 years ago. Not much improvement.
Virtualdj is hot and good !!!
Ofcourse I like a plugin for karaoke, but hopefully somebody is good in making plugins like this one.
I think that in the meantime, there are a lot off virtualdj karaoke players.

I'm now doing work at a Karaoke club and with 20 tables, and up to 15 or so song requests from each table I think this is a darn good idea. As to how to intergrate it with the songs in the browser I dont know.

Really needs to be able to....

Keep track of 20 or so table nos, keeping the requests in the order they requested them, and assigned to the table no that asked for it.

Allow you to rotate the requests so each table gets fair "time", and prevents the same singer singing twice in a row.

"Label" each table, (or a persons name) so when their song comes on, a message pops up on screen with "the next song is for Table 12". Perhaps including the title of the song.

You’re making more work for your self.
SIMPLIFY. Those dam karaoke freak can be a pain sometimes.

To keep folks in the rotation properly, only except one slip per singer at a time.

1) They give you there slip.
2) You call that person up to sing.
At this time they can give you another slip that goes on the bottom of the pile keeping them in the rotation. Never take more than one slip at a time unless you’re doing double shots.

When new people come in add them to the rotation by staggering them into the next rotation cycle. If they are a good singer, put them after a really bad one. Sometimes the Karaoke fanatics do like it but if you’re consistent every week they’ll accept it. At some point they themselves will come in late and will appreciative you for throwing them into the rotation and not at the bottom.

I've seen other software’s that scrolled the next sing and the song across the bottom of the screen. look really professional.

Hi,

Why not using a part of the VDJ fucntionality: the automix playlist function.
if the Dev team can make an option to use this list for
- autoDJ or karaoke purpose it would be a start
besides artist & filename, an extra field "comment" must be added , here you then can add the singers name or table nr etc... .

Via a plugin the artist, title and singers name/table.... the first line is shown at bottom of the video screen.
Options in the pugin:
- select what to display, artist, title comment field or a combination of the 3.
- position of the text, scrolling etc... same options as text2D

Waw, I hope you'll understand the direction to go.

Well. The best way that might get something usable would to ask through the back door. NUMARK

Key change must be a big city thing. I haven't used nor have I been ask for key change ever in 10 years of doing karaoke.

As for the rotation list, why is this so important. With all the free time and space on your table freed up from not using disks you should have plenty of time and room to use a pad and a pen.

I personally do not like a totally locked in rotation of singers. I prefer having the flexiblity to add in new singers and hold off on the crashers that turn in 10 songs at the beginning of the show. I believe strict rotations are taken advantage of by a few that in the long run hurts the overall entertainment of the show. Case in point. The is a local place that quit having karaoke for the simple reason the same 10 people sang all night long that same songs week after week.

In closing a strict rotation can lead to no longer have a gig that particular night. That's just my humble opinion.

I do move good singer around the bad ones to keep from having people run for the door. But the list can be flexible and by introducing new singer though out the rotation allows you to create a more palatable listening experience for the other in the room. The list should never be concrete and if you consistent, the karaoke freak won’t freak out. After all, if you treat them like there superstar no matter how bad they are, they’ll always come back another ego boost.

Key Chang, I had my first request to change the key last Saturday night. The dam key changer worked great. I need to play with it a little more to figure out that slider but no complaints and the sound was good to.
The only people that request the key to be changed are the superstars and most of them for some reason like DK or MM. Unfortunately for those individuals I have 37,000 Titles in my book and only have one copy of each song. No doubles like some of the KJ’s that say they have 30, 40, 70,000 songs and there’s probably 3 to 4 copy’s of each song. Sorry about that, just tooting my own horn.
