Ok, so i know this is a big ask, but does anyone of any facilites/websites available to get a downloadable list of every single top 40 UK chart entry since the charts began in he 1950's?

I had originally thought using something like Everyhit.com to get a list of all the number 1's, then all the number 2's, then all the number 3's, etc, etc, etc and pasting them onto an excel sheet, and then sorting them into the months and years, but, yeah, that's gonna take me ages.

So, anyway, i was just wondering...does anybody know about anything like this?

A (great big) massive excel database would be just the job.

thats one of two that i normally give out, the other being totp database but it looks like that has been withdrawn. have you tried an advanced search in eh for what your looking for, might be worth a try...

Thanks for that tayla...but i've managed to get every single number 1 from 1953 to date, it's really the rest of the UK top 40 charts i was looking for...

Like i say, big ask I know, but just in case.

PS...If i need to sort myself a list, i can pass i onto anyone who may be interested in it.
 
just a pity the bbc totp database is not up and running anymore or at least i can't log into it...

you could also try the mastermix site they released a a box set of every uk number
i bought it several years ago, if i knew how to post the scans i took of the back labels i would post them here
 
I used to have a great program that i now can't find it was a database called British hits, silly name really as it had every hit from all over the world on it. Anyway it was good to have loaded in the background because you could type in a search n it told you what chart position it reached and how long it was there, knowone seem to have this i did a post on this once n drew a blank i still look on the net for it n just come up with everyhit that is not the same, this worked off line and you just went on the site n updated every week.
