Topic: What process do you have turned off

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Does any one know what processes are safe to completley turn off in Vista and also does anyone have all of Vistas processes turned on with out conflict with VDJ.

My other question is What is the best operating system for VDJ XP or Vista ?

Hi chriso,

If I was you I would not turn any processes of at first. I would run it at home for a few hours or even days and see if you do get any conflicts. It's a waste of time altering the config of windows if don't have to.

I've had a few little problems where I had to turn a few things of, but I use XP, not bothering with Vista till the first service pack comes out.

If you still want to turn off some processes, have a look in the Users blog's I think Skyfxl has done a couple of blogs on this sudject, and he knows what he talkin about.

Hope this helps

I have to concur on this one, I now run mine default, the way it was when installed except for turning off UAC, defender, and Internet time. I tried to change it to Best Performance and VDJ just sucked so I put it back. I tried Black Vipers Vista tweaks and it made it worse sooooo back to the way it was at fresh install. Ohh I also have the sidebar turned off.

Cheers guys i will take a look at the info

What do you mean, are you sure ?
"Best performance" is usually a big resource saver at least on XP, (i don't use vdj with vista at the moment)

Yeah best performance is best,

For me when I put it on Best Performance whenever I would load a video to the playlist my videos would skip, when I put it back all was fine. I will try and play with it some more and let you know.

I also turn off any hardware not being used in control panel / system / Hardware device manager
Right click on hardware your not using and select "disable"

I especially found this helpful for turning off the wireless network which ended up solving a popping/click issue in VDJ
Other hardware I disable is the internal soundcard and network card. (i use external sound devices)
