I am interested in buying virtual DJ but I want to know, will it work with Windows Media Player and can I down load MP3 files from sites like Napster or Rhapsody?

It works with MP3, WMA and most other audio formats - you just take individual files and load them on the decks and you can scratch them and things like that.
You need to put your files in a folder which is easily accessible - thanks to someone on here giving me the same advice, you would be well advised to save them in Windows Media Player using the filename "artist - title" - save it as "title" and you have to spend ages typing out the artist.
It should put them in album name, so you won't find one huge folder of files and have to spend ages looking for them!
Best to invest in an extension hard drive, if you have a laptop - its own memory is largely needed for software files - clog it up with MP3s and WMAs and similar, it gets too full!

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh if you want to be a pro dj at some point you have to get pro software and hardware
so windows media player and all the other civilian crud wouldn't even be considered , due to there lack of pro features and many limitations ....
VirtualDJ is the premiere software .....you can play and manipulate audio and video with a multitude of supported controllers , and you can podcast and there are many cool useful plugins for audio and video efx that are FREE ?? and cool skins ..... so come join the adventure .......

He doesn't sound worried to me.. It sounds like he has some good experiece much like most of us her who knows how VDJ responds in different situations. If you don't like the advice discount the knowledge. You have a choice to use someone elses experience or not. We are not running your show.
