Topic: Big News....New Video Service Coming To Town - Page: 1

Questa parte dell'argomento è obsoleta e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate

While the official public release will come sometime in Feb, we are now going to have more options with respect to video sources.

The details are sketchy right now, I suspect some official news will come at NAMM this month.
Formats are going to be a "wide variety" and I would expect to see mp4 as the preferred format.

Is this a joint venture, or is it our own video site,

Anyway it looks good, I will be moving to video soon. So it will come in handy.

signed up but any ideas on pricing & genre that will be offered, also is it open to the general public (would keep costs down the more that use the service) or official pro users only

Not a joint effort, an inside tip from someone who is involved thats all.

From what I remember, $35 a month, unlimited downloads, and I doubt very much it will be open to the public Tayla.
It's been hard enough to secure this kind of thing without letting it out to the general public.
I would rather pay $35 a month and pick what I want than to waste my time with the crap that coming now.
No mail time to screw with either, extended, instrumentals, and accapellas will be available.

Pretty excited about this as you might tell.

Guy's,
I'm excited Too!
I just signed up on their website!
(maybe its just a mailing list)
I hope these look better than the mp4 Itunes videos.
I hope their in Xvid/Avi format which is more comparable to Vob. (in my opinion)

:) QuadmanDJ :)

I don;t really give a fiddlers fart what format they are in - as long as they are complete, and compatible with VDJ

I'm ok with the quality from iTunes - but tired of making itunes videos compatible with VDJ

Well that will be about 17 quid ( pounds ) here in the UK going on current exchange rates, and that's good for a video download site, unlimited aswell.

hi rick

am i reading this correctly you can choose which videos you wish to download as well as the choice of downloads are unlimited for $35 a month this site is what the dj fraternity has been waiting for

i hope to god they have their pricing policy right, mixmash and promo only will now have to sit up and finally realise enough is enough and give there bread and butter us djs what we actually want at a fair price and not as in mixmashs £3 ($6) a pop for selecting individual tracks or £45 ($90) per a 15 track cd

£17.50 a month has my money and my vote, thanks for the link

Tayla

Thanks for the tip Rick :D

Unlimited sounds great until you realize there are only 10 - 20 new videos offered a month, and you only want 8 of them. We will have to wait and see.

If there's a monthly fee, that makes me worried that the videos will be laced with DRM, and will quit working if you cancel your subscription.

Yeah, I was wondering about this, too. But there's no information on the site yet :(

Members are not going to have to worry about that is all I can say.

Wow, sounds interesting. I signed up.

Thanks for the info.

This sounds great. I know thishas been in the works for a long time. Just hope is will be worth the wait.
Only time will tell.

Just signed up... when is the press release

Release should be at namm this week, press release to follow.

Expect this in a few weeks.

I am down with a site like that, but as someone said before, you need a good selection, a consistent update, and ability to get older, newer and different genres.

Has anybody heard about what resolution, bitrate, sound files? MP4 is what my12inch.com uses, but whoever is doing their compression is horrible as you can EASILY tell the difference between DVD and download video (plus they only use 640x480).

An even bigger question is will they have ALL the videos or just the crappy hip hop & rap like my12inch and exclusive grooves? Most of us and our customers aren't narrow minded and we need to play some rock, some pop, and some dance...even a country tune now and again not just the same 10 raps over and over all night like most of the dj's in Phoenix and SoCal.

If they get a good cross section of genres and really DVD quality video and sound $35 is a very good price, if it's only rap & hip hop it's $35 wasted.........

What would really be nice is if they also have a retro / classic /old school selection each month also
