Hi everybody,
Could someone tell me where in the USA ( Miami area preferable or at least online ) can I get a MAYA 44 USB or similar interface so I can jump into the Virtual Vinyl wagon ?
I've had my Numark CUE full version for almost a year now, and I would like to try the vinyl.
I have asked the folks at the Numark's forums for it 3 days ago and still nobody has come up with an answer or at least suggestion yet.
I know you guys are pretty good at getting back to people, so please stir me on the right direction.
And since I got your attention, let me also ask you this : Is there anyway to get rid ( like an ON/OFF switch ) of the waveforms on the skin ? I'm trying very hard not to look at them when mixing R&B and latin music since the waveforms kind of get me confused, but I find it very hard not to look at them at the end. I have even tape paper to the screen to hide them. Please don't shoot me, I'm just wondering whether or not it is possible. Also, any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

you should look at it to find your cut point and downbeat, to mark your cue etc, just do not try to sync them
also I believe that are some skins that have separate waveforms

Thank you man, this place is located at about 3-4 hrs from Miami. I will just order it online. My guess is that the time-code vinyls I should be able to get it from Numark, right ?
Do you use the Maya card or the Numark one ? Any tips ?
Thanks..ap

Excellent advice....I will try my best not to look at the waveforms anymore, even if the song is house/techno.
I'm gonna research about the "downbeat" to get the hang on it..Sorry for my ignorance in certain things, I'm still learning at this point. I normally play in house parties for friends just as a hobby, sometimes paid mobile gigs come out of the other people attending those parties and the money serves to buy more dj stuff...even thought the kind of house parties and the few paid gigs ( weddings/b-day/etc ) I get do not require me to do to much of mixing/blending, I just want to learn to do it as close as possible to how a good club DJ makes those nice & smooth transitions between songs, regardless of the genre. I play mostly latin music, but I know it is possible to make nice mixes because I have heard a lot of local club djs doing salsa, merengue, etc live mixes in clubs.
What kind of music do you spin the most ?
Anyway, thanks a lot for taking the time and giving me some tips.
