i'm itchy in the straightjacket again........

sometimes when i defrag i ........ obfuscate , wanna see my webcam ??

No, you must be talking about CP3ORick. I tried to defrag one time, and it bite me. I had to get a tetanus shot, and never tried that again.

Who would've thunk a this post would've lasted this long.

I just got a Voice mail from my GF and she is staying in Panama a couple of extra days. I better set my system on auto defrag to stay functional. I don't want to be grumpy in front of my audience this weakend.
 
fatkatz it's all good ......some peeps wanna mapper , some advice on a controller , somebody else wants a feature on a skin.....

or sometimes they just need a reminder to wear a glove ........i don't compare the relative merits of any of those things cuz ,

it's like comparing apples to oranges ...... it's fruitless .....

Hi mate

If it's only your restore points that are not defragged, that will not make any difference to the peformance of your machine when used with VDJ.

As long as your media is not fragmented, the files needed for VDJ are not fragmented and the files needed for Windows operation are not fragmented you're good to go!

Also you would want plenty of space free on your drive for your Windows Swap file to use, when your drive is heavily fragmented and there isn't much space free, the Windows swap file needs to be fragmented too, which causes a real slow down.

I believe Windows is now alot better at avoiding fragmentation (XP & Vista) and it tends to only be when a drive starts to get pretty full that a drastic amount of fragmentation occurs. Still, no harm in defragging often (How ever it does make your hard drive work alot more than it normally would, so there are wear & tear aspects to consider)

Many people often try to defrag to solve computer errors (crashes), however defragging merely increases loading times of files, it won't fix errors for you.
 
thanks digimixer .......i defrag every day ..... too much ?? my C: is 61% empty

also i don't understand why some files won't defrag ?

i use diskeeper and it can do some neat stuff .... much better defrag than windows , defrags paging and master file table , can invoke CHKDSK and then a boot defrag so it's very useful ... it says i have low performing system files which are the restore points.....

I know all about adult Gerbers. I still remember when I broke my jaw. It didn't break at the jaw line but just past the last back tooth so they couldn't wire it shut. I ate whole a lot of mush and shlop. Sometime the blender was my best friend.
