Any suggestions on which controller works best for doing video work? I am pc not mac
1st is a list of things I don't need it to do (1) I do not scratch, (2) I do not use the sampler (3) I do not use any video effects save the clipbank and the crossfade transitions
Things I DO need it to do (1) standard 19" rack mountable (or at least something smaller than 19" so I can add rack ears if needed) (2) I need seperate faders for both audio and video (3) at least 4 dedicated loop buttons for each player, 6 to 8 even better (4) at least 3 dedicated cue buttons for each player, 4 or 5 even better (5) pitch bend through buttons or jogs (6) not loose mouse functionality when controller is active (7) built in soundcards would be nice but not required (8) mixer built in with stereo program/cue blend and split program/cue (9) it would really be sweet if it had a powered usb post on the face to plug in a usb gooseneck light into.
Any suggestions? I am going to mobile beat and hopefully there will be several there to play with but I thought if there was any you guys could point me to from experience I should take an extra long look at.

Hi,
I recon you'd really like the numark dmc2.
out of your list, the only thing is doesn't have is a physical crossfader. What is does have is two dedicated "video crossfade" buttons. So you press the left one and the video crossfader slides to the left, or you press the right one and it slides to the right.
With the JPBoggis mapper, you can set the speed of the crossfade to and also use the audio crossfade buttions as video crossfader and so have two different crossfade speeds.
With this controller you would need a soundcard as there isn't one built in, and you'd probably want a normal dj mixer, so that you can do manual audio fades, adjust the EQs easily, etc.
There's also the new denon HC4500, but that doesn't have dedicated video crossfade buttons. JPBoggis is working on a mapper for it though, so I'm sure he'll find a way of sorting that out.
Hope that helps.
Andy.
