Topic: Getting 'Error In Video Driver' Error

I recently installed a new Hardrive in my Laptop. I downloaded everything (updates, VDJ, plugins ect.), turned off the internet, eliminated uneeded services...and so on. Everything has been working fine until I got to the club and plugged up to the bars TV's. Everytime I try to turn the video on via the video card I keep getting an error message 'Error In The Video Driver'. I have about 2 1/2 hours till show time. I am going to research and try to get this moving but in the meantime hopefully someone can point me in the right direction or give me an idea.

Anyone got any quick tips on what I could do to get this working? Its an ATI X1600 graphics card running Windows XP (on a Macbook Pro via Bootcamp). Maybe I need to install some ATI drivers or something. I don't remember how I got it going before and I'm not to familiar with Windows.

I'm not an expert, just want to tell you what worked for me:

I had a similar problem and figured it was because all the Projectors were different brands and set to different resolutions but all connected to the same cable.

You probably Plugged your S-video cable (or whatever you are using) straight into the TV system with several TV's and didn't allow your video card to recognize the new TV's. The card is trying to send the same settings you had at home to the Club's TVs (which may be different than what you have at home)

This is what I did:

Unplug your S-video wire from the Clubs TV's/Projectors
START > Control Panel > Display > Settings.
Highlight Monitor 2
Uncheck "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor".
Restart the computer

Once it restarts:
Plug your S-Video wire to the TV's/Projectors
START > Control Panel > Display > Settings.
Highlight Monitor 2
Check "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"
Start VDJ and activate the video.

The video Card can now set itself to a resolution that is adequate for the TV's at the Club vs the one at your home.

I get the same problem if I turn off my laptop with video output still enabled then restart it vdj with the video out cable disconnected. It basically remembers the settings you were using last time which is why its spitting out the error. Try disabling the activate video option then restarting vdj.

Another recommendation if you are still getting the problem is reinstalling your codecs package. That always sorts my probs out.

dude....i guess u have an excuse now to upgrade to Vista. & if you do....don't do it the normal way. use osx & delete that partition 9in mac it will just get rid of it & make it normal)

then reformat to vista. I will personally will fly up there & let you kick my ass if you don't see better performence with vista/VDJ.
