Ok, the St. Patties dance is fast approaching and I desperatly need to find a couple opening tunes. What I'm looking for is one song that is a traditional Irish dance song and a second that incorperates those Irish sounds into a more modern dance song, something like "Cotten Eye Joe" for the Irish if that makes sense. Any reccomendations? All input is highly appreciated and thank you for your help and your time;^]

That would be great tayla, thanks!! Won't need the clipbank tho as my system isn't up to the task of videos, unfortunatly. I've been searching and searching for some sort of Irish dance remix for a transition piece but still no luck. You'd think with my overwhelming Irish heritage I'd be up more on the music, but so far all I've heard is the Chieftons..lol;^]

sorry its taken longer than i thought but been having probs with my home pc, anyway here's a few tunes that will keep you going for a few hours and they are not in any particular order, Sham Rock - Tell Me Ma is a good crossover from mainstream into irsh its got a real party feel to it, The Dubliners - Bugger Off, i play as my last song wherever i'm working, now be careful with this one if your in a mixed age group or feel someone might be offended don't play it, but for me it works great because i have the punters singing at and along with me, the chorus goes something like this "bugger off ya ba$tard$ bugger off" see what i mean lol. of course theres other irish bands to pick tunes from U2, The Corrs etc hope this little lot helps on the night for you
