hello, i also have the same program .. start there and move to the new version... I have to ask whats did you pay for it?? your question is about setting the sound controls... Its not a dumb question.. It has to do with the ways you set it up.. Most djs are using a external mixer and then you take the line out of the computer to the mixer put it into one of the line in channels.. if you can split your sound card for left and right then place the other line into the mixers line in on the opsite side.. from the mixer you can hook your speakers to the mixer using the master line out.. the other choice is to check on ebay for the hercles controler if you get one of these it comes with a copy of the program and also has a usb connection... I have heard of some people setting the sound card to play there head phones in setting to.. the negitive is the ability to control as exact as a cheap mixer.. mixers are cheap from 25$ to 200 you can find them in pawn shops .. your dj world will change once you get one.. it becomes about skill and creativity...
