Someone posted a question about this a while ago and did not get an answer. So in addition to being a mixer, is the mackie d4 also a four channel sound card? Can I run my Time coded vinyl's through 2 channels, with out an external box (Maya, Audio DJ 8, Scratch box) and use the sampler through the third channel on the mixer?
I ask because I am about to drop $400 on the Naitve Instruments Audio DJ 8, well for $400 more I can get a whole mixer.

after looking at a photo, and reading the specs, of the D4 no it's not a soundcard. As far as it working with VDJ, it will work fine just like any other mixer would. It does not support Midi so you will not be able to map any of VDJ feature to it. But the fact that's it's a mackie means it will be a quality mixer, with a clean sound, that will last a long time
