paid £249 with free delivery... managed to get 'price match promise' with htfr.com to they sent me a free dj watch thing aswell. i'd reccomend them cos they use ups for delivery, takes 1-2 days and u can track it all the way. parcelforce / royal mail are so unreliable. 249 is probably a bit dear but arrived today and i only ordered tuesday night online - id rather have it now than wait a month or so and get it twenty quid cheaper.
i'll let you guys know of any teething problems.
although... just got it out of the box for a quick look and it feels very solid, very heavy, and much more professional than the mk2... also comes in a great carry case... got it delivered to work tho so now ive got all day to wait before i can get home and have a mess around with it!
also, can you get different skins for the version of vdj5 that comes bundled with it?

No, the DJconsole edition is a free lite edition, you can buy the PRO version of Virtual DJ with a special price http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/
Don't forgot to insert your serial number here http://www.virtualdj.com/fusers/modifuser.html

I'm sure someone will make a few skins for the new DJC edition, just don't expect too many choices if they do;^]

I agree, but the problem is that it may be rated I pro edition

Maybe, but there were a few choices in skins for DJC edition 3.4 rated for home edition users. Plus, probably a few home edition users on DJC 5 will end up creating skins to share. Of course, they still won't get all the choices we do either way;^]

As it's virtually a free version, there should be a few incentives for upgrading, and I think skins is a good one, but the supplied skin (the one I received when beta testing anyway) was in my view a very poor skin, no offence to the author.

When I designed the skin I had a very short time scale to work with. The original lead man that was point man on the project left with undisclosed reasons so it was left up to me to create or finish the project.
Sorry to dissapoint some of you but like it has been said there will be other skins available.
Have fun!

hey guys,
first impressions are very good. the rmx has a rely nice quality feel to it, firm buttons and a heavy construction. it really was plug and play aswell, no probs whatsoever with the installation.
one thing i would say is that my macbook (2ghz dual core, 1gig ram) wudnt power the unit and said it was using too much power basically, i consulted the manual which said restarting the laptop
with the unit already connected, i did this and it worked first time.
the only other problem i'm having is that after a while, say 5 mixes in a row that have a few effects and loops and stuff involved, the beat lock dusnt seem to lock on properly... it sets the track to the same
tempo as the other deck, but then they drift apart... its not happening all the time tho, and if i restart the programthe problem solves itself. just worried its gona happen during a gig, any ideas?
or general info on good tips etc.
p.s. all in all i'm impressed with the unit so far, and the build quality is 10x of the mk2 pr even the behringer bc3000
