Topic: MTV Programme " My sweet Sixteenth" WTF

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

My Girlfriend and I has just been watching a programme on MTV called "My sweet Sixteenth" and I got to say how shocked I was.

I couldn't believe what I was watching, She received off her parents as a Birthday gift, a Party in a Massive Hall, with her own DJ, $7.000 dress, 150 guest's and a 40 grand BMW X5, all because she was 16. What the Fcuk. Does this shit really happen in the states.

I am truly shocked, two words come to mind

Spoilt tw*t.

Yes it does... It makes me sick to watch that shit. It's like a deer in headlights. I always end up staying on that channel and watch about 10 minutes then my stomach starts to turn sick and even get upset.

Unfortunately yes, it happens here. You must stop watching this bullshit right now, or your brains will start to melt. It is pathetic what these little monsters are be like when they grow up.

The Paris Hiltons and Nicol Ritchie and the Britney Spears x10...

Certainally is mate.

If I went to my old man on my 16th Birthday and asked him for a BMW he would have slapped me into next year.

Some of them have rappers or R&B stars perform. Snoop Dogg charges 1 million to do these things. I saw one with JaRule and Ashanti.

I saw one..the girl who turned 16 screamed at her mom for buying the red BMW, and not the blue, and then screamed some more because she received it at the wrong place and time. Just for good measure I sent my 14 year old to bed for watching this idiotic show (don't need her getting ideas)

Yup, and we struggle to pay for gas while all these assholes just buy their kids (who don't even know how to drive yet) these expensive toys.

My ex used to make me watch that crap with her, sure doesn't happen in my neighborhood. A sweet 16 here amounts to a 40 oz. in an alley & if they want a car, it's hot wheels all the way;^]

jimmy you two faced.... who got a big track when he was a kid?? lol

to hell with "sweet-6-blings"

and if you think the sweet 16's are bad, do some reading up on Quincenera's....
insane.

Our own Scotty B from PO dj's for that show actually.

It's absurd, and that is what shock tv is all about, freaks draw viewers from the normal folks.
I do many sweet 16 parties, some extravagant some quite casual.

The good thing is one leads to another, and if you hit the mainline it's hard to keep up as they all want to "up" each other or at least have "as good". I recently ran into mom at a restaurant and my being a dj came up.
Then the questions started and before you know it, I had the date.
From that came 6 others.

Seen some with the princess treatment too, usually an only child from rich parents, yes we take their money too.
Its just as green.

If I got a job like the show, I would probably think twice about it.
There is a good reason I don't do weddings also.

What ever floats your boat as they say.

Did one last year...they hired me and a Latin DJ to work the same job, same room, same night. He did an hour, I did an hour. The father of the girl did not want his non-Spanish speaking guests to feel left out, but still wanted an authentic Spanish/Mexican DJ. So he hired both...I charged him full price, the old man never batted an eye. Rick is right green is green is green.

I gave up Bat & Bar Mitzvahs, because I can't take spoiled brats any more. It is harder and harder to get away from the spoiled. I did an 8th birthday at a country club, and it cost more than some weddings I do.

I want some green.. and a blue bmw... and one of those 16 year old sweeties. I'll give em a birthday party, won't be that sweet though.
(I'm a dirty old man, nevermind me)

Lock him up.

These parties never happen in Canada (at least I've never come into contact with them)

The big one everyone looks forward to is 18. Legal drinking age. (19 in Ontario)

Usually the only time someone throw's a party with a hall rental and DJ is for the 50th or perhaps Occasionally a 30th. Just something that seems to be an American thing.
