Does anyone know if you need to buy TWO of the Xp5 MIDI controllers (if you already have a multichannel soundcard)? Or can I use one, and use that to operate the separate virtual decks one after the other?

I think it is possible to program one of the buttons to switch decks much like the <tab> key on your keyboard, with this you can switch from deck to deck.

Yes, you can program the 1 controler to run on both sides, it works just fine with just one.
