Last night I started a new club. I connected the S-video to the house big screen and got a grounding noise through the speaker. I disconnected the new S-video Cable and the noise went away. With no time to diagnose the problem I switch to my backup monitor and all was good.
Has anyone had this happened and what could be causing the noise?

The same as with the sound, Ground Loop problem. You can eliminate ground from your computer as a temporary solution, but get a Ground Loop Isolator:

Thanks but why is the house TV causing the noise. I came home from the gig, hooked up my laptop to my home TV, and got no noise. Is the problem coming from the house TV and what can I do to eliminate it. Is the Ground Loop Isolator the only resolution?

If so will the Ground Loop Isolator fix it?

Yeah it should...there are several options....outlet type or RCA type..high end or low...choose what is best for you.

I would hook this up to the TV power cable?

Yes, you could always hook it up to your equipment aswell, however if the TV is the source of the Ground Problem, then you would place one of them on the tv's power cable/ outlet.

No, your laptop power cord. Or, if your using a power strip, like a Furman, plug that into the HUM and then the HUMX into the wall.

I would have thought it would have been plugged into the TV as this was the source of the Ground Problem, however I may be incorrect.
