One kind word of advice don't try to eliminate processes. I and others have had issues when doing this. Pretty much all u need to do is disable Sidebar, Defender (if this computer goes on the net just shut it down for vdj) and disable UAC under the admin user.

Thanks. Could you please direct me to turn that off.

I'm Also having a skipping issue I'm don't seem to be able to resolve. Every minute or so I get a skip. I'm using the RMX.

Go to control panel, then users. From there I dont remember, but pick the admin then properties probably and look for uac. As far as the RMX I dont own one so cant help ya there. Did u try safe mode?? Also what is ur performance settings.

I tryed low and best. I tryed SAFE MODE and it only helped a little. Could something be running in the background the could be interfering with it?

I don't Know if it's like this in Vista, but in XP

Start>Run>type "msconfig">OK.

It will bring up all the sevices you have and start sevices that start on boot up.

Might work with Vista

Don't start disabling services in Vista unless you know damn well what other programs rely on them. I am telling you this from experience. I had worse stability when I went in there and disabled shit like I did in XP. I am running like 43 processes on Vista and VDJ runs flawlessly. Do you have anti virus running in the background that you don't know about. I know some cant easily be turned off and if you have Norton Good Luck.

Norton is a pig to turn off or get rid off.

thanks see what happens tonight

If you know what to look for in the registry and also in the files of your computer you can get rid of Norton easily, but u have to get rid of the registry parts.

It is in Users>UAC (User account Control), disable and restart.
second, got to Screen Saver>Power and set it to High Performance, also go to advance and disable all power saving features.
Third, Fix your Swap file to same amount:
System Protection>Advance (Put it to 2000MB)
Kill Aero and all fancy staff that you don't need while running VDJ.

You Da Man Alf:)
