I've been using VDJ 5.0.7 for a while now and just purchased the Hercules RMX. Am I better installing the DJC version that came with the unit or just stay with what I'm using? I believe the only difference is the new skin with the RMX version. Would it make using the RMX a little easier?
Thanks for you help.

Haven't tried the DJC edition for that reason, I see no reason too. I just have a couple issues with 5.0r7 & the RMX. No sound from the second deck when using the RMX icon as soundcard (works great using as 4.1 card), frequent loss of volume to samples in two channel mixer mode, and the flippin double effect doesn't work when configured to a button (have to use the mouse pointer). I've also discovered an issue with quick scrolling, that is holding the down arrow while turning the jog, that it will scroll down the browser but not up. Other than that no problems, I don't feel these issues are enough to warrant using the DJC edition for my needs;^]

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried installing the DJC version in a separate folder, but that didn't work out too well. The DJC version that came with the RMX seems to be a trial version only. In any event it installed the new skin in my old version anyway. I don't like it much anyway.
I found the same anomalies as you did, having to use the 4.1 card instead of the RMX icon, and the scrolling problem as well. I was getting some skips and other annoying sound glitches, but they seem to have gone away right now with the current configuration. I still need to use the mouse to navigate easier across song fields, as the left and right keys are iffy at times and slow me down.

Are you running Norton by chance? I ask because there was a thread in hardware support about skips that was solved by turning off Norton.
I kinda expected it to have a few bugs at first, new releases usualy do. Pretty easy bugs to live with though I think until they can be fixed, it was a $340 well spent;^]

I'm not running Norton. I haven't had any skips since I went to the 4.1 setup as you suggested. It definitely has a few bugs, but overall I'm starting to wonder how I ever got along without it. I haven't figured out how to program the 1-6 effects keys yet, at least there's nothing in RMX control icon (task bar) that deals with that. The manual doesn't seem to cover how to do that either.
