I read somewhere that 5.7 will be able to detect when songs are moved on the hard drive. How does this work? Do you have to recurse after moving songs around?

I'm constantly playing with my music directory structure using Tag&Rename (yep, I'm anal as shit [pun intended]), and VDJ seems to pick up on it, no matter what I mess with...Pretty kewl, really.
Just to be safe, however, I always follow this procedure after I've moved things around:
1. Recurse the master directory
2. Select all the tracks (ctrl+a) and right-click anywhere on the list to bring up the options
3. Choose "add to search db"
4. Clean the database in browser tab of config (the old references tend to linger)
It's been working just fine for me so far ;)

The big thing is as discjockeydoc pointed out - the Recurse. The bigger thing is that this is what you do immediately after you move your stuff and launch VirtualDJ. If you try to just go about your business and do other things then you would have bad references to file locations (the reason for doing step 4) and no references to your new locations. Also, if you plan on doing a MAJOR reshuffle. Then do it in steps/phases - doing those steps above in between the massive moves.
But good info discjockeydoc.
