Now I know this forum may be somewhat biased towards Numark Virual Vinyl but I want an honest evaluation as to what is the best timecode package?
So far i've looked at Numark Virtual Vinyl, Traktor Scratch, Serato Scratch LIVE and M-AUDIO Torq Conectiv. Anymore I should consider?
Now basically they are all in the 200-400 braket, money is no object as i am keen to get the best.
I have experaince with VDJ Pro and really rate it, traktor is ok too but I very slightly edge towards VDJ. I have no experiance with the Torq or Serato software but have seen it working on various product demo videos. Am I right in thinking the Torq and the Serato software are actually the same?
Ok first of all I want to know which is the best software? Seeing as I own VDJ Pro and i'm assuming Virual Vinyl is the same, it's no bonus that the Numark package comes with it. So really i'm looking at the hardware side of things, so which sounds card box is the best out of the lot? Is there one that can run two timcoded vinyls and two tc cds concurrently?
If I buy regardless of the software, will the hardware and tcs work will all other software?
My mate seems to reckon that the Serato one is the most popular and it certainly looks impressive from the vids i've seen but is it actually the best both software and hardware wise?
Thanks for reading, hope you can help.

Since you have Pro license, you will be wasting money on Virtual Vinyl (software part). You can take some good sound card and Timecode vinyls and you are ready to go. I don't use TCV, so I can't help more (don't know competition too as VDJ is best for what I need).

Yes, why are you looking at Virtual Vinyl as an option?
You can purchase the VirtualDJ Vinyl Timecodes (from this site) OR the Numark VirtualVinyl Timecodes (online outlets or in stores) - they are the same.
You then only need a IN/OUT Soundcard - ESI Maya44USB, ESI U46XL (the new U46DJ model), m-Audio Connectiv OR high end $ Audio-8
Rest is history from there... you are only missing the components to make it happen - no need for more software.

Ah ok i'm with you now.
Still wanting to know which is the best software to use though mind?
Out of those "cstoll" reccomended all except the Audio 8 are around £100 for that kind of money (£50-£150) which is the best to go for?
Any others I should look at? Don't care about value, just performace and compatability.
Can I get the numark one separately without the software, is it good?
Now the Audio 8 one looks awesome but is kinda expensive, would i be sacrificing much by not going for it?
Thanks.

You are going to get your money's worth by purchasing the NI Audio-8. It's a good quality device (I don't have one, but it is widely reported as such)
I have a Maya44USB card that I have used for 4+ years. Same card, never repaired, never broke, (knocking on wood as I type this).
So, if you are looking to invest and try the capabilities - Get the Maya44USB. Good initial investment and if things go well and you want to go more $$ and high end quality there is the NI Audio-8 and others in the future.

I brought one about a 6 weeks ago, use it for my TCV set up, and it's fine. Cost me £70 delivered.
So with the TCV, which you can get from the site, it will cost you a tad, over £100, not bad really :)

From trawling the forum i've heard a few bad things about the maya. Would it be worth my while fronting a bit more cash for one of the others cstoll talked of?
Which of the slightly more expensive ones would be best, any others?
The audio 8 is kinda too expensive to be honest.

Most Maya44 USB issues are in the Setup of the card. Not necessarily the card. Like I said... been using the Maya for 4 years straight on a club install. It's a good card. I will agree if you are a 'REAL' picky audiophile then you will probably find 'flaws' in even the most expensive cards.

I've been using the Maya 44 usb for about a year. No problems with it at all! Currently, im using it with Denon 3500's , Denon HC4500, and a Denon X500 mixer. And last but not least VDJ PRO, all works very well.
I paid around $130.00 U.S , I think for the money you get a a very good card. And of course , a very compact card very easy to hide stow away and carry around with you.
