Yes it comes with a very nice case! Keep the foam inserts to protect your buttons and always have you manual handy....

Hercules RMX I OWN IT...
I just got my Hercules RMX last night and if you are like me your reading this because you are thinking of buying one and consider the price a considerable investment. If so, all I can offer is my honest opinion and here it is. I am extremely pleased with what I got for my money. Please read on though, perhaps it\'s not for you.
I have to say that I did a lot of research (especially) customer reviews and was extremely frustrated at the general self centered snobiness of writers complaining about this and that feature not doing something that it was never designed to do anyway. I know there are a lot of great dj\'s out there, loads better than me but when I first mixed in the 70\'s headphone cueing was the most important feature of a mixer and since the enjoyment of the dancefloor was still the focus, we had fun with 2 channels, headphone cueing and a stack of heavy records. As quiet as it is kept, we had some great parties with no mixer at all, I know good dj\'s who can use the pause between two records to entertain and everybody talks about the great time they had at the party last night. So, those who think it\'s a crime because all of the pretty buttons don\'t light up the way they like may not be particularly interested in what potential lies in the music and the crowd, and get this...someone wrote that crowds prefer to see the dj manipulate vinyl and are turned off by a dj who appears to be checking his email in the booth.
Appearance is important, great mixes are essential.
There is some loss of gain at the extreme ends of the crossfader. I have handled enough Virtual DJ gear to be familiar with the glitch and I have never once had a dancer say your crossfader is bleeding a faint signal from the other deck. I don\'t know what solution is available for this potentially serious misfunction...but I am not sending the RMX back because of it. In practice sometimes a really good groove gets going and I flick the crossfader to add accents to the mix and the bleeding becomes unnoticable. (I wonder if Miles Davis ever sent a horn back because a valve bled slightly or if he jammed with it because otherwise it gave him what he needed...TO BE MILES DAVIS.)
The RMX has really nice heft, feels sturdy and remains stable. It comes on when VDJ software is loaded and stays on. So that this doesn\'t get overlooked...IT\"S A STABLE DJ COMPUTER CONTROLLER. I don\'t care how pretty your hardware is, if it doesn\'t respond, it\'s no damn good. I kept the unit on all night and went back to it periodically to find it waiting to jam. I like that.
Sound cards and all the Hz that come with them can be confusing and distracting to beat junkies and music lovers. No problem with the RMX. Someone at research said we need truly a plug and play...this is out of the box plug and play. I once had a dream that the great Jam Master Jay and I were sitting around discussing ASIO, Hz and sample and bit rates, that dream was a nightmare. I just wanted him to spin two discs and continuously transistion between the two.
Plug and Play with solid Stabilty.
I had it reinforced with a B-52 Matrix 200 stereo PA System and a cheap pair of Sony headphones available everywhere for 20 bucks. I pulled up my favorite folder of a couple hundred House music classics and let her rip. The damn thing performed fine. I haven\'t yet looked into how to assign the FX keys in the supplied software to the buttons on the RMX but honestly speaking...in this department they could have not better suited the thing to my personal style of mixing. When manipulating the EQ\'s to smooth out my moves like-take a looping beat, drop out the bass and drop in a new bassline from a new song I like to create a break in the looping beat with the beatgrid and then slam the new bassline in- the \"beatgrid\" effect is the default button #6...like it was made for me.
I have to practice the looping before it becomes seamless though because unlike the pro software there are only \"in/out\" buttons so you have to hit it exactly right or your beats go straight to trainwreck.
Here is the beef that some people have which I find a little whiny. The pro version cost obviouly picks up where the bundled version of the software leaves off. I suppose there is no harm in wishing the cost included all the features, but I understand the reason for pricing some of the more advanced features additionally. If I were an expert tech I wouldn\'t work for minimum wage and the guys that put Virtual DJ software together do a hell of a job. The suff covers pretty much everything a DJ could want and all but illiminates the embarrassment of throwing of your mix \"techno-house and any straight foor on the floor or lost music files or boring uneffected sound. If you have good music you can mix it with this software without an advanced mathmatics degree or knowledge of algorithms or warp engines or Native Instruments very unmusical \"beat grid\"/cue lock stuff.
Now, I purchased a broken BCD 2000 on EBay some time ago for $80.00 dollars (as is) and found the soundcard did not work but the controller still manipulated VDJ and some others well. I was very glad to learn that I could take my mixing to the next level with things like a sync button, start and a jog wheel that helped me cue to the peaks in the waveform. Cue it up (sometimes visually), adjust volume, hit sync...count to the break and BAM, it\'s mixed-beatmatched and bangin. I had to get the Numark DJ I/O for sound and install the untsable drivers for sound but I was giving Okenfold nightmares with my funky house mixes and truly pleasing myself with the kind of music that I could produce.
But, the BCD is plastic and large and not too attractive. The $99.00 DJ I/O seems to fight with every other soundcard in my system and has recntly began to pop on installation (which is sometimes repeated DURING A GIG. All of the wires are only a double hassle when the featherweight equipment rolls over on it\'s side and falls off the table suspended like an unsuccesful pirate at the hands of the angry villagers.
But it did hook me on controllers and organization of equipment and music.
At $349.00 I thought about the value of this new RMX product and the ease of use, and frankly found the dedicated VDJ software a huge plus toward the cost. The ease of use is unmeasurable in terms of money, it plays flawlessly and only requires a patch from the unit to the PA.
I lanquished over the decision to purchase this unit. I am so very glad I bought it. Unlike some of the legitimate pros that use this forum I will do some houseparties, where the music will the focus and I will present an evening of mixes full of emotion, fun and serious musicality...a wedding or two where I will charm the guests with banter and humor, sentimental moments punctuated with music and long excursions through my OLD SCHOOL music collection for my own endless enjoyment. The Hercules RMX wil be my vehicle in all of these endeavors and I am looking forward to it.
I don\'t envy those of you facing the decision on how to spend your money, but I am very glad that I don\'t have to make that decision now since I made mine, got the Hercules RMX and am glad that I did.
Hope this helps someone.

Yeah, sorry all for the lenghty post,. I just know that I had a real tough time deciding and said to myself that I would help out the next person as best I could. That's my best.

Question:

Why doesn't djreplay have a link to his profile, and the ability to PM him, or her?

(updated to note): In fact, I don't have that either... do I need to adjust something in my board preferences?

I'll say...WHEW!! Nevertheless, thorough, and nice to see someone so happy with their kit decision for a change. Good luck with it, man ;)

I'm kinda thinking of scraping up for one myself, and hiding it from the wife :P

We'll see...

Because djreplay is classed as a home user, home user's don't get that benefit option

Yes you do mate, I can see your PM, and your smiley face, as it is on your profile and that you can't pm yourself :)

@Steve

Also u need to have something in ur blog so u can have a link to ur profile activated;)

Thanks guys. I put a link up in a blog, showing my newly configured mobile system and case. I think I may show it off as a topic too.
