I need an automated way to take the GENRE field of the ID3 tag and insert it into the comments field of VDJ so I can sort by music type. Since VDJ does not support ID3 tags, it is very limiting.
Has anyone done this yet? Exactly how did you do it??

Go on then - what genres do you use? I alsways have a hard time seperating my disco from my 70s, and my RnB from my hip hop. I probably think too much. ;-)

I created a little program to fill the mp3 tag automatically. If I have some time I could try to get the information out and fill it into the VDJ XML file.

There is also a parser available for download , that will let Virtual DJ use the ID tags instead of the file name rule which is default

but parser don't see BPM in tag information !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Inviato Tue 04 Jan 05 @ 1:18 pm
That parser cannot read the genre in the tags.
It also considerably slows down the start up of the program in order to read all the tags...it takes minuest, and occasionally it tries to read the tags also when you play... not reccomended al all...
