Topic: Mackie Speakers?

Anyone use mackies..............how about the Mackie SA1532z,.............does it have enough bass?...................whats the difference between the Mackie SA1532z and the Mackie SA1232z...........any advice on mackie....any other mackie setups?

I own the SRM-450s and the SRM-350s and both work very well. The main difference in the speakers you listed are the large speakers within the cabinets. Either 15" or 12", but both are good speakers I have heard live and they are wicked! The 15s will give you more base. I use mine with a separate sub and have had nothing but good luck with them.
 
I use a pair of mackie C300c These are passive speakers and do a fine job. Although i do think a sub would help at some venues. Just don't know which to get. Passive, Active, Single or a pair? Any thoughts anybody?
 
I Love my Mackies .I use them for indoor, I have two SRM-450s. They are 12' speakers. If you are doing a small venue , keep one on the floor backed up to a wall, and the other on a stand and you'll get a great bass response. Just get to know what songs have a sub low frequency and be ready to adjust the E.Q.. It impressed a band member when he walked in to set up. He was looking for my bass bin. Larger venues I have two powered yorkville bass subs, (300 watts /10' speaker). Very light and what a sound. Fills a banquet hall of 300 people plus .make sure you use the low cut filter when you use them with the subs. Outside I use a QSC .500 watts a side at 8 ohms with two yamaha club series 115. All frequencies covered . For back up and smaller venues I use a Yamaha sc512 i think it's called, anyway it puts out 350 watts at 8 ohms a side and ways in at 20 lbs. and can be used as a backup mixer if my mackie should some what after six years fail me. Thinking about getting peavey 15" cab,they are light -30lbs (and if I spray the speakers with polyurethane ) they'll be waterproof long enough to get them inside when it starts raining. Lots of rain at this time in Fl. I work five nights a week outside.
 
I have 5 Mackie 450's (I always use one as a monitor, and in case I need a backup). I have 2 Mackie 1500, but always use at least one. If you only play at old folks homes (don't laugh, it's good money), you will not need a sub. However, if you play any kind of hip hop or club, you will need at least one if you play for 100 people or more. If anything, it will put less stress on your tops, and sound better at the same time. Some will say, "you can get away without it", but they say the same thing about condoms.
 
How about Mackie subs? Whats the difference between the Mackie SWA2801Z, Mackie SWA1801Z, and Mackie SWA1501.............Which one has most bass?

I don't mind feeding him the knowledge, that's what I'm here for. I just don't want to hold the fork.
