Topic: pops and clicks with video on 2nd screen

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I have tried all the recommendations I could find - have tried turning everything off in startup, registry, vdj config adjustments, etc. I still get pops when I enable the video for a 2nd screen (is fine if I leave video properties set to one screen - all pops disappear with three effects running simultaneously plus vid transition with scratching, etc). CPU barely goes over 1/4 to 1/2 on the green bar - 2200 dual cpu, 2gig ram, 8400GS, Vista Business, vdj5.1, conectiv, tcd with cdx. I suspect the video card is maybe not up to it? I will buy a new one if thats what it is. Can anyone confirm or have any other suggestions?

Do you have the latest conectiv driver as older ones do have serious performance issues on vista.

Yes - latest drivers for conectiv and latest nvidia drivers.

Do you experience issues in Torq?

I would also check your DPC Latency! Download the DPC Latency Checker program and run that. I had a similar situation with my laptop. It worked fine for just audio but when I enabled the video and used an external monitor I would get pops and crackles. Seems some nvidia drivers have Latency issues. Let me know if this is the case with you as well!

Uninstalled torq a while back but it doesnt have video (or didnt a few months ago far as I know) so I doubt that would have probs as I only have issues when I enable the second monitor in Vista. I will try latency and let you know.

Latency is ok according to DPC - spikes to about 1000 - just going yellow - absolute max is 1019

Still get occasional pops and clicks with second vid enabled - any suggestions appreciated...
