Topic: RMX And Timecodes, Pleasant Surprise

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Up until now I hadn't fooled much with Asio drivers or timecodes on my laptop with VDJ because of my bad experiance with the mk2, u46dj & the Fast Track Pro. Well, I'm going to be doing a tiny sized apartment party for my aunt in a few weeks so I decided to fiddle with the Asio drivers so I could use the RMX inputs. At first I couldn't get the inputs to work at all until I switched to timecodes option in config. and just disabled timecodes from the skin. I was surprised how well it was performing, just as Jimmy tried to get through my thick skull, even though sound wasn't bad with WDM drivers, it was much better with Asio. So I got curious about timecodes and tried hooking up my c.314's, much to my surprise again the sound was excellent at 4 ms latency (pitch sensitivity 0 ms lead time 200 ms), scratching still wasn't as good as it is with my delta 1010lt but it wasn't bad at all. The weird thing is that it's showing up as 0% timecode signal but yet the timecodes still work well. I'm going to keep playing with it after I get back from my appointment today so I can try a long set with it, but so far it seems pretty promising;^]

p.s., it should be noted my laptop is a low end del inspiron b130 with 1 gb RAM and and Pentium M. 1.8 ghz;^]

I've played around with my TCV and the RMX, and it ain't bad at all Timmy, obviously my Maya44 is alot better and latency is much lower with TC but I was surprise too mate. I get abit a fluttering in the signal with the RMX but it seem's OK, wouldn't trust it at a gig though.

As for using Asio mode, I always do, even used my mk2 in this mode. I don't like WDM what so ever. Sound quality in Asio IMO is far superior,

If the asio drivers keep working as well as they have been I might start using them at gigs, I have however run into a problem with the timecodes. After running 4 or 5 songs I lose control on the c.314's, checking or unchecking ultra latency in sound setup fixes this when it happens but then the songs (both full song and the blend track) return to the beggining. I wonder if the 0% timecode signal is playing a factor in this. If I use timecodes at a gig I'm gonna use my Sony with the delta card anyway, but I'm gonna still try & get this sorted, I'd like it to work regardless;^]
