1. Make sure your folder VirtualDJ has permission set to r/w for everyone.

That's the part that was missing. Soon as I set the Vdj folder to r/w, I could save my virtual folders. That's all I had to do.... Thanks a billion times, and more!!!!!!!!!!

Check the permission of the VirtualDJ folder in My documents. It has to be Read & Write otherwise VirtualDJ can't have access to the database.

Sorry but I guess whoever started this post didn't realize it was there already. The keyword is "Everyone"! I had my permissions set to read and write, but it didn't work until I set the everyone else to r/w. Isn't there a way the future installers can be programmed to do this automatically?

Indeed 'everyone' should be set to r/w and not only in the VirtalDJ folder in the documents folder, also the itunes music folder with all his subfolders should be set for 'everyone' to r/w if one does not want to have the same struggle as i did: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/96754/MAC_Version_Technical_Support/some_songs_give__error__while_loading_.html

I think future VDJ updates/grades should indeed take care of that.
Giving 'everyone' r/w permissions is not the standard setting in Mac OSX. Only the account that owns the folders and files is given full read/write permissions. Which is exactly as it should be in my opinion.
VDJ seems not to agree with that.

i am having the same problem - when connecting my ext. hard drive all BPM's are wiped.
Need this fixed asap and im not tech savvy enough to directly modify the files myself.
If anyone can help please please try as i am having to scan BPM's every time i play a set.
Cheers
Luke

Will have a look at my r/w settings see if that helps :)
