Whats going on... I wanted to start making video remixes to the remixes that i do already for audio... I have a couple questions ... Does Vegas have a beatmapping section ? How do you set the desire temp of video to sync with you audio ? If audio is 125 BPM how do you make a video that is 120BPM to sync up ? Any help on this issue would be great...
thanks
And yes this is only for my use not for resale...

Is thier anyone that knows this program well that can help me with it. I am trying to make some video remixes and cant seem to figure it out. One thing I want to do is either put video to my funkymix and X-mix and or and an intro and outro to the original video. Can anyone help?

Do a Google search on "sony vegas tutorial". There are many great online tutorials for Vegas. Depending on what you are trying to do, it isn't the easiest thing to explain over the phone. Explain exactly what you are trying to do, and what version of Vegas you are using.

simple stuff.............on the clip you want to time stretch hold the cursor over the end line of the clip, hold down the contol key and drag it to lengthen or shorten it as desired

Here is the thing. When you hold control to shorten it or make it longer, are you just going by ear to try and make the bpms are close as possible? Then just matching up the video to the audio totally manually? I am using Vegas 8, I just thought the time streched worked like that of acid, where it actually lines the beats together for you. I am trying to put the original video to the audio of a funkymix or x-mix, obviously with filler video where needed.

To my knowlege it will not do it automatically, besides if it is just a video clip with no audio then there is nothing it can syn...it has to be done visually.
If they both have audio then when you time stretch you can visually match the wave forms so the beats overlay each other, but that is the best you can do with vegas as far as I know.
best bet is to call sony tech support and find out if they have a feature to load all audio at the same tempo as acid does.

I just use VDJ to sync the BPM to the desired spead then use vegas for splitting and mixing. I just did demo CD and DVD using this technique. This method works very well for older music like disco and funk type of music because you have to ride the pitch bend so much to keep things in line.

hey jimspinnin
Time stretch is a great tool mon. and sometimes when learned properly the editor drops using acid for remixes completely... and used vegas instead.
yes you will have to manually listen to an extent but it is beyond that actually... it is about lining up the wave lengths as perfectly as possible.........
A SIMPLE STEP
1. Find a similar point on both original audio and video audio... make sure the that they are lined up for start here on the left... (both tracks begin at this point, this can be at a point where the person starts singing.. or on a down beat) POINT A
2. Listen to the original audio by itself (mute vid audio) and stop it at a certain point... click at this point (probably after 8 bars etc.. .or at a particular point, word in a song.. or downbeat). Shorten original track to this point from the right side. POINT B
3. Listen to the vid audio by itself now (mute original vid) and stop it at the same point or down beat, or word in a song) t that you had stopped on the original beat. Shorten vid track to this point.
4. From the right side time stretch vid audio [CTRL + drag] (whether left or right) until it fits. to POINT B
The use of zoom in and out is helpful in accurately matching the wave forms
move down further into the song and repeat steps 2, 3 and 4
