one day i was in a rush to set up for a gig...... (i know you've all been there)!!! i get everything going and right off the bat i realize my timecode signal is 0% I use serato timecode vinyls and i made sure that i noise map was check in timecode options but that didn't help! so i switched it to vdj 5 vinyl and it was still at 0% I fixed the problem later by reinstalling the software but.......................................................................
the most wierd part is that i was able to do super fast scratches and infinate backspins with 0% signal without any problems!?!?!?!?! It felt and sounded like real vinyl and there where no pops or clicks at all! i even turned on both key locks and had the perfomance of vdj all the way up and i had no issues at all! i mean super cirps and all with key lock on even when i was playin b-more house and trance!!!!
when i had 100% signal with vdj 5 or serato vinyl, i could do some fast scratching but the faster and longer i did them, the more artifacts pops and clicks there were and eventually i would loss the spot that i was scratching. if i tryed to do a really fast and really long backspins it wouldn't spin back the way regular vinyl would and i would loss the spot i was trying to spin back too....................................................
if there is anyone out there that does some scratching, i would like to see if anyone can get the same results as i did. all you have to do is............
1. have serato and vdj 5 tcv
2. get 100% signal with vdj tcv
3. do a real fast backspin and see how long you can keep it up before it sounds crappy and you lose your spot
4. put the serato tcv on and dont change anything
5. try the fast backspin again and see if it sounds better and last way longer!
6. if you know how to do super fast chirps, try them with these settings...... i can do all my old scratches now and i never lose my spot that im cuttin anymore no matter how hard or fast i scratch !!!!!!!!!!!
now the problem is that after 20 mins of 0% signal, vdj will automatically turn off the timecode internally and i have to go to options and change the tc from vdj 5 to vdj 4 just to turn it back on again. doing this every 20 mins is stupid and it messes up my flow so i went back to just using tc with 100% signal. BOY DO I MISS DOING MY FLARES, TARES, BACKSPIN, TRICKS, SUPERCHIRPS, etc.............. lol
i guess my main question is, is there a way to let vdj play tc @ 0% signal for a long period of time so it won't turn off the tc signal every 20 mins????

Hi there, i use vdj tcv and throughout the night i notice the signal flicker all over the place but very rarely will it stay at 0%.
eg. It will drop to 0% as soon as you stop the record to start scratching etc.
If the needle has gathered dust and other crap! (mine does a lot - especially with smoke machines!)
If the turntables aren't grounded properly.
What soundcard are you using?

I've noticed that, if I switch my needles around it messes with the signal somewhat, to the point of being at 0% sometimes......especially with fast setups, so I just try to remember what needle was for which side...(this makes no sense to me but its what happens,)... I am going to change my turntable rca wires this week and see if I still have signal issues, because I've decided am not using vdj native vinyl anymore till they make some changes...

Wait till you hear the audio speeding up and slowing down, and the waveform going backwards at the sometime, now that is freaky!!!!!
Weird as fcuk.

thanks for all your input guys...............
to dj marze..... my soundcard is the n.i. dj audio 8 and i love it!
what im saying is that i get way better results using my tcv with 0% signal than 100% signal. when i do, vdj automatically turns of the tcv after 20 mins of 0% signal. I would like to know how i can turn off this feature so i can run vdj with tcv with 0% longer than 20 mins???

That's crazy! I don't know how to help! What skin do you use? Im using Formats MixLab 3.1 with the timecode switch on it. i sometimes need to turn it off when it plays up. maybe you could try using it and seeing if it turns off and then switch it back on?
