Just trying to get a feel on how VDJ community feels with DenonDJ company as a whole.
are they supportive?
did they solve your problem?
my mixer(x500), cd player(s3500) and new controller(hd2500)(soon to be returned) are all denon. I tried making a few requests for software improvements and it seems like they are there to just shut you up instead of trying to help you.
I've searched and search for topics with vdj or virtual dj and all i found were complaints and wishes for hardware/software improvements get shut down.
please reply with as much detail as possible.

Personally I've had nothing but good experience with Denon.
And the Denon developers are registered user at Virtual DJ community, and interact well with the company here when it gets to controllers getting supported etc..
But I cant speak for how others users experience with Denon are ;)

I only use Denon CD players:
* DN-1800F (sold)
* DN-2600F (sold)
* DN-D4000 (sold)
* DN-D6000 (still own)
* DN-2000 MK3 (still own)
Rock solid build. Great functionality. Great sound. No complaints.
Can't comment on Denon mixers. I've never owned one. But they look like crap to me. No style. Too busy lookin' for my taste.
I'm a loyal, hardcore, Rane MP 2016A rotary mixer user.

thanks for the reply guys.

really?? then perhaps, maybe, please, pretty please, with cherry on top, ask denon to add artist, title, bpm, pitch, & time to their dn-hd2500 with use in MIDI. it's such a shame to have a big screen not displaying anything when using it as midi controller. such a shame.
@dj chris
i completely agree with you. denon products don't look great, but they are bundled with functions, and are rock solid.. including the mixer. i think the designers just try to shove as much technology as they possibly can into their device and don't care how it looks in the end so long as it can do more than any other product in it's class. and i LOVE that about them.
... but what about their tech support?

The first time I used a Denon product was when I switched over to CD. This was back in the late 90's. I even bought the first dual cd player I used from my boss before he got into home entertainment stuff. And all I can say is wow. Great and realiable the products they have put out . I love them. I know Pioneer is the staple in alot of clubs I have been to in DC, Georgetown area, but, alot of Denon stuff is good for the bang and the buck. So far, to me, in my area, if I am not using Serato, or Pio's, I am a noob :( Everyone has their opinions though. Mine is for Denon. Some people will see different. :)
As for having hardware issues or any type of consumer stuff. I can not help with, what works for me prob wouldn't work for most. If it doesn't work out of the box and going through the products forums doesn't help ehh.,. :) Times are rough for alot of new DJ technology these days. I like to wait at least 3 years, for any software, hardware, to make sure the kinks are at least worked out.

Im a Denon suporter, love their products. I've said a thousand times for the quality and the competetive pricing you can't beat them!
My gear:
Denon DNX500 mixer love it simple not to crazy very functional 19" rackmount very reliable never had an issue of any kind.
Denon HC4500 MIDI Controller 19" rackmount solid so far, had it for under a year but great equipment can't say enough about it. We'll see how well built it is in a couple years have'nt owned it long enough to really know it's reliabilty.
(2) Denon 3500's CDJ'S excellent! Love the feel of these cdj's lots of toys on them, I was saying something about this the other day.
I really like that you can add a 45 to get that vinyl feel! From day one, I installed the software updates on them and never had and issue. I have heard complaints about them saying they have software issues. But, I never had one problem with them at all, solid!
Once again Denon products are quality proffesional equpment at a competetive price, so not everything will necessarily beautiful looking. But, for the price your paying your getting qualiy :)

Although Denon products are great, their support stinks. I have a DN-HC4500 and can't use the Asio drivers properly with VDJ. Other users have similar issues but according to Denon support forums it is a hardware issue.
I love the controller (apart from having to use directsound at 23ms), but I wish they would just admit there's a problem and fix it.
No more Denon for me I'm afraid, and that's a shame as I've had 3 good CD units. Their support of the DJ controller is abyzmal!

Well, I have owned Pio and Denon gear. Support from Denon its incredible great, especially from Silvio. My current setup is the HC-4500 with the DNX-500. Incredible controller, I don’t think you can get better controller for the price. I pick the 500 mixer because the x-control feature for cross fading videos. Anyway the mic preamp really sucks compared with my Pio DJM-3000 mixer, and if you are mobile (as I am), you could play in venues with voltage drops and the mixer cuts the sound or makes like pink noise because its digital (there is or there is not sound). I solve the problem with a real big coiled power regulator. But overall it’s a great mixer.
I had the dns-3500 and they worked fine for the first year, but with time, one of them had the spinning up issue, and the other some buttons had to be pushed too hard to work, most of times I lost the cue point when do stutter-effect (only happens in Pionner-CUE-mode). Some CDs one 3500 plays fine, and the other cant read it, and vice versa, and I know that is burned fine because my Pio CMX-3000 played it fine on both decks.
That’s just my experience with Denon gear. I have a friend that have 2 units of the F-2600 and they give very very abuse use and they have been worked flawless for the last 7 or 8 years, but their DNX-900 have many issues.
You should go to www.denondjforums.com and read users pro’s and con’s of the specific units that you are interesting.
Hope it helps.

i haven't really had any problems with my denondj products(2x s5000;2x 5500;) the one problem i had, one of my 5500's was spinning out of control.i posted on the forum and they walked me out of it .
however i havent had time to fully set up the 5500's as of yet ( not even using the soundcard in it )its still a busy season for me right now ;besides i want full support so i can use two 5500'with vdj .

I just picked up some Denon 1200's and they are great. In the short time I've been using them, the response is very good. Their forums are helpful and so far I don't have any complaints. The equipment you buy is only half the battle, you still have to have skills no matter what brand you use. I choose Denon because right now, they are offering more quality for the money... My mixer is not a Denon, I bought a mixer that came with an Innofader as I felt the Denon Mixer was too small. Hope this helps.

This what i know about denon. I owned a Denon 2600f dual cd player and it read everything, ever scratched cds. When they came out with the 9000 dual cd players, the trays were replaceable because they would fail after 2 or more years. The lenses would give eror and stop playing. The Denon 6000 was giving lens ereros from the beggining and denon made an update to address this issue, and another and another... The denon 5000s and nice but the belt driven platter is so so... After a while, the platter plays funny. Its either dragging then it play ok. The denon 3500, the scratching is not good and the motor burns out and gives lens errors. If you play lightly, then denon is for you. If you play alot and need something that can handle harsh conditions, get pioneer. Denons have good features like the many hot starts and effects and sample but that is only good if you play only audio cds.
I owned the 2600f, denon 9000, i dj yed with the 4000 dual cd player (hot starts suck, you have to push 2 times for it to be on point)
Ive dj yed with the denon 5000 single cd player and the soungs were slowing down and speeding up. The platters belt was messed up
