Topic: Cant get rid of the skips with my RMX

Hello, again. In my other threads i got some answers, and i did as you told me to do. I also found a program which showed devices that might cause the stuttering and popping. I disabled some of them, and now it works better then it did before, but i still have some issues with the sound. Now it dont happens so often as before, but every little skip drives me nuts.

I read somewhere at the forums that the hard-drives which the music are stored on should be run at 7200rpm, but mine is only 5400, could it have something to do with this? Or is there anything else i should do?

What are your pc specs, and what is your configuration settings? Give me full detail on all :)
 
Try this, open the RMX control panel..and try running your RMX in WDM mode..see if that helps....
 
But remember, if you use the RMX in WDM-mode you loose the Analog-In functionality. This works only in ASIO-Mode.

My RMX also skips when running in ASIO.
For me i think this is caused by my Laptop-Specs wich are really ... lets say ..... suboptimal.

I have an
Amilo Pro V2000
Pentium M 1400 MHz
1GB RAM
intergrated Video Controller

No skips in WDM-mode.

I have a Compaq notebook:
AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-60 1,90 ghz
3,00 mb of ram
Nvidia geforce 8200m g

I dont use pro, so all the default settings.

The problem in the hercules control panel is that i cant switch to WDM mode. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Ok, next question is do you have the latest RMX firmware update? And if you do tell me what your settings are in performance and sound on VDJ? Just so you know this is not just an issue on RMX it also haunts Hercules as well.
And not for anything, but this has been happening for a minute there's been lots of complaints regarding that problem.

And one more thing are you up to date on all your pc microsoft updates drivers etc?

I have the HDJS_3 which i downloaded on hercules website, and playing in WDM mode.
I noticed something, since im new to this, i use to play in the red area in the equalizer in VDJ, and it always stutters. But then i turned down the gain and everything works just fine. This could be it?

Try this and see if its better, performance tab:
Set it to best quality and under sound card set it to auto. Maybe that will help you.

Hi HKNYC, as he is using the DJC edition with the RMX, I dun think the options is there;)

PS: have u try to change the mode? Open the herc panel prior before open to VDJ LE;)
