Setup


Drivers & Firmware


(Windows & Mac)
Firmware : Update the firmware of the device to the latest available version from https://www.akaipro.com/lpd8-mk2 (select the DOWNLOADS tab)

Drivers: No drivers is required to be installed. The AKAI LPD8 MK2 is a USB compliant device and your Operating system will automatically install the necessary drivers for the unit.

VirtualDJ 8 Setup


Download and install VirtualDJ from https://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Once VirtualDJ is opened, a Connect Window will appear. Login with your virtualdj.com account credentials.

A Pro Infinity, a Pro Subscription or a PLUS License is required to use the AKAI LPD8 MK2. Without any of the above Licenses, the controller will operate for 10 minutes each time you restart VirtualDJ.

A detection window will appear next verifying the proper connection.

The device is now ready to operate.


MIDI Operation.


The device should be visible in the MAPPING tab of Config and the “factory default” available/selected from the Mappings drop-down list. The factory default Mapping offers the functions described in this Manual, however those can be adjusted to your needs via VDJ Script actions.

If the pre-defined keys are not offered or not functioning properly, please make sure the device is programmed correctly. See Advanced Setup
