How to open port for direct broadcast
Check if your broadcast can be reached
VirtualDJ uses incoming connection on port 8000 for direct radio broadcast. To check if your computer can be reached over the internet, so that users can listen to your broadcast, use this site : https://www.canyouseeme.org/
Remember to enter port 8000 at the link above, and do the check while you have VirtualDJ open with your broadcast running.
The site will be able to tell if your broadcast is online or not.
If unsuccessful, make sure VirtualDJ is not blocked by your firewall, or in your anti-virus software if it has firewall/internet-security built-in.
Sometimes you will have to also make sure your computer is reachable through your router, for users to be able to listen to your direct broadcast.
For a tutorial on how to setup port forwarding on your router, find your model on the list here: https://portforward.com/router.htm
Alternatively contact the brand or your ISP where you got the router from for assistance.
Broadcast to Radio Server
If you are having problems with opening port 8000 for incoming connections, or if ISP/Router does not allow it, you can always sign up for one of the many available hosted radio servers on the internet, and broadcast without users having to connect to your computer.
