Topic: Alpha transition still doesn't work.... - Page: 3

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Just to update ... my system here at work is a wimpy Intel 945GM Express chipset. And it works fine. Got some testing to do to see what it takes to 'break' it from working ...

Thank you again cstoll... is it possibly an NVidia issue?

No, I have checked on my club system and I have the same problem you have and I am using an ATI video card. There is something that is different in the 'higher' end cards that is not picking up on the 'layering' of the RGB layers. Not sure what it is ... it's not DirectX as I have tried the last 3 DX releases and there is no difference. So not sure what the issue is ....? Will have to leave this up to the developers.

Confirmed, I've tried it on various nVidia and ATi cards with the same result.

I think 3D gaming cards are not optimized for this function, The transition works glitchy with an nvidia gaming card but all of the video effects works flawlessly with my nvidia quadro card which is a graphics optimized card

Any fixes available?

Any progress with this? Am experiencing the same problem yet i run Vista 32 with Intel 865...

Still being addressed.

Never tried this Transition before.

Just tried it out on my now retired ex DJ laptop, Dell Inspiron 6000 with 915GM/GMS, 910GML shared graphics, and it works.

Tried it on my new DJ laptop, HP G70 with NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GE, and it doesn't work :-(

That's the bugger about the whole thing ... for some reason on the cheaper grade cards/chipsets it's fine and quite good, but the higher grade cards - nothing????

sure is, my gig machine has an nVidia gf9800 and it wont do the alpha transition, but my netbook, with 800mhz cpu and intel 945 graphics does do the alpha transition, even though it takes longer to load videos there than it takes to play them!!

I have gotten an explanation back from the developers on this issue ... it seems that as the manufactures have gotten more advanced in their cards they have broken the compatibility in using the fixed pipeline method that this plug-in uses. The future solution would be to have a plug-in that uses PixelShader to create the effect. I know ... huh? what did he say ... :)

I have tossed this to a couple of that plug-in guys to see what we can come up with ... I am not going to promise a solution in the immediate future, but at least we have a better idea of the direction to go to make an improved plug-in.

Cheers,
Chris

PixcelShader sounds more 'futureistic'..

Welldone for finding the issue. :)

Well it's not something like take this old fuel injector out and put this NEW advance one in ... it's more like having to learn how to build the engine around the new injector ... but again not impossible .. just will be a bit time consuming ... once we have a mechanic .. :-)

Guys, this is awesome. THANK YOU for the help and I really hope to see this working in the future; it's my favorite transition. Seriously, thank you for the updates.
