Just wanted to say that before you go out bad mouthing virtual dj in this case vdj 6.01....do remember that this is a SOFTWARE and a very good one may i say...but yes this is a software that runs in most cases perfectly fine on good running computers....vdj has very very minor if not NO problems at all...so before you go out there and say that its crappy and that its full of bugs.....please look at the crappy hardware you are using...and yes while the versions of ANY software updated and made better..of course the requirements of the computer increase so if you ran vdj 5.2 very well on your computer this maybe being that your computer was at borderline of running good to crappy...then this version of vdj 6.0 might not run so good so people think its the software thats crappy when in reality the computer is outdated...that and drivers, soundcards, video cards etc. Im not a computer expert but i do my homework i have my computer running @ 99.9 % perfect no virusus no adware registry fixed drivers updated ...you name it my hard drive is 140 gigs almost full and still running smooth and fast, i surf the web everyday then again i clean my computer almost everyday. So please read and question before you just say that its plain crappy....sorry if i offended anyone but...just a thought!!! VDJ is the best thing out there !!!

Your sentiments are valid and good points have been made, but why are you a Limited user ? The most annoying thing with 6.0.1 was it was not fully beta tested.

I can assure you v6 was heavily beta tested. Even with all of the VIPs there is no way to foresee all possible circumstances possible to every PC.

I just wondered for the Karaoke users why karaoke zipped files which were picked up in 5.2.1 not picked up in 6.0.1 and can not be. Why was this not found at beta stage when this was the first issue I found with in minutes. Don't want to start a major thread on this just to the Teamers please as I am interested in how the process works. May a private message would be better.

It could be a Unicode issue linked to the .cdg filename inside the .zip.

Could you give me the .cdg filename (inside the zip) of one which worked in 5.2.1 and not in 6.0.1

Yes, Why buy an SL3 to use with vdj? Just curious...

I dont see why they don't open up the beta testing to the license users. Other DJ software companies do this, and I think it creates a better final product.

Who said I use it with VDJ? Uh, I use it with Serato?! duh?! ;)

What I meant was the VDJ haters can't fathom why I would bother with VDJ when I have Serato to use instead. The difference with me is that while I do own the best Serato interface on the market I still prefer VDJ over Serato (the TTM 57SL is not better than my DJM-800 with SL 3 attached sorry). VDJ runs "through" the SL 3.

If I am running VDJ and then decide to run videos or karaoke only then do I turn on my external LCD, the small video window will appear on the laptop screen if the external LCD is not turned on, then at that point I must drag and expand.

This is the wrong way
You should click config/video, click the drop box and select the video card option to activate full screen output.
It will find it if you have properly set this up.

Rick, Rick, Rick, I have already said the I DO have it set up the way you are saying. I did it the other way to show novices who have never run video before, they obviously will not have it set up properly when just beginning to use VDJ for video. I did if from the perspective of a novice user. All I did was show them the basic operations. As I said, I will be doing a video on advanced use of video and karaoke with VDJ coming soon. No, I don't have to drag the little window day after day, only for the purpose of the that YouTube video.

Thanks,

Hi its in your email box.

Cheers Djcel

This pic is for the hater among us that emailed me and said that if I wasn't such a liar cause I brag too much about something he has seen no proof that I own, he has read other posts of mine about the way I have my "phantom Rane SL 3" connected to my system, seen my pics and no SL 3 sighting in any of them, and I quote " there's no way you could own this because if you did you wouldn't bother with VDJ! Plus the way you "claim" to have it connected would never work!" lol Well, @$$hole I do and it does!! Moron.

Here is my pic taken 5 minutes ago with the SL 3 Velcroed up high so as to be noticeable. Also note Serato running on the external LCD. lol, Dumbass!!

First off, I'm not broke, If I say I have it, I do. I'm not some 15 year old kid dreaming about stuff I wish I had and then lying about it to look good to everyone else. I'm a 42 year old businessman with a college degree, 5 kids and a wife. I don't have time for this BS. I'm here to help and to learn something while I'm at it. I love being here and other DJ forums to help and learn and I'm not going to let some peon hater ruin it or me.

Grow up kid!

I got the sl1 myself, how is the sl3 in sound quality compared to the sl1(if you ever owned the sl1- that is?) I might pick up a sl3 in the future.

Btw forum, it wasn't me asking for the sl3 proof lol.....

It was just some anonymous person from here that read my rebuttal and backed off with an apology. I've got no qualms with the individual and I understand how some people on the net are just plain liars, so this person called me out and I proved my case! lol. No biggie.

As for the difference between the SL 1 and SL 3? No, I have never owned an SL 1 but I have used one in the past and yes the difference is noticeable. I posted a comparison chart here...

All of the VIPs are licensed users. I have been through a few beta testings now can give you my word, this was the longest beta test I ever participated in. It is simply impossible to foresee every conceivable problem, no matter how much beta testing.

Thanks Chris, much appreciated! I'm not down by any means, I know some people are just generally cruel by nature, especially online. Flexing their anonymous flaming skills hiding behind the screen trying to be an internet hard a$$. They don't bother me.

Thanks for the concern Wiz...It's an empty can of Sugar Free Rockstar energy drink. When I'm doing a gig I never allow drinks within five feet of my equipment, unless it's mine and I keep it low and away from my gear. I've seen too many accidents in my 25 years behind the booth. I've had people get pissed at me for telling them if they wanna come back here they need to put the drink somewhere else. I had a guy then set his drink on my speakers to come back and look at my equipment, so I told him get the drink off of the equipment and he got so upset he was ready to fight me until I got up from my stool and when out there and stood next to him ready to have at it, he changed his tune rather quickly as I've never been a scrawny dude. lol

So what your admitting is that your taking the blame LOL , fully understand ;)

@ chriso710,

im a limited user because i have the full version on this computer i bought from a local dj here he has the license....i was interested on the lappy because i been trying to switch from analog to now digital...i bought the total control for it and registered the cue limited....im on a budget with no job at the moment....but im honestly going to buy the full version as soon as i get back on my feet....even though i have the full version of 6.01 and its not a cracked version....i know im missing allot more i hate being a limited user, good thing is that i get a discount for buying the total control i already looked into that so yeah thats the reason....i hope i dont get hated on because of this...i will soon be a licensed user.

Hey your a VDJ user welcome to the site. Most folk who use the software whether sold on or cracked will eventually buy it if they go into to the DJ business seriously where by those who don't purchase the software are not to much of a threat to the DJ community as they have no intention of buying the software anyway. And should they decide to chance using it in the field they will become a cropper one day.

All said and done we are a friendly family helping where we can, or just having a whine " unless its Jimmy B he likes a beer " so any issues or input from yourself is appreciated as it keeps the forum alive and diverse. Its great you rate the software so highly and with a valuable asset such as the ongoing support from the team and members you won't find greater support any where else in my book.

PS. When you do get the full prog you get full membership to the experienced users forum, and man you don't know what your missing in there ;) Freemasons don't get a look in Lol
