I never received a solution to this gain problem. A song gets loaded and it sets a gain. The gain knob on the screen will get set to the far right and display 0.0. sometimes -0.7 -1.1 , 1.0, etc. The problem is I can not increase the gain if needed because the gain knob is turned to the far right.

I have a video that putt he gain at -10 and I have no way to increase the volume. I did a reanalze but I am still at -10!
 
All my tracks have the gain set using MP3GAIN, and i have the gain setting in Virtual DJ to disabled, to stop VirtualDJ re-analyzing, this so far has worked without a hitch.

I was going to suggest going to the options tab and disabling auto-gain as well. As far as the MP3GAIN goes is this a good program. I hate when certain songs load and they have low gain due to sound quality or whatever the issue may be. I was just thinking to myself the other day there has to be a way to "normalize" all my tracks. Ill look into the mp3gain thing, thanks!
 
 
Does anyone know of any professional grade software that does something like this?
 
I use MP3 gain, but I need to keep the Virtual DJ for the videos.
 
This still has not solved the problem? How is the gain on Virtual DJ for everyone else? Load some songs and videos. Where does the dial go? Can you add more gain after the song has been set? Some of my songs I can while most others I can not.
 
Would it be possible for you to make a video of your screen while your messing with a couple of songs. Could you also take a screen shot of your options setting. 1 more thing do you use that MP3GAIN program. From what I've read there's gotta be something better then that program. Me personaly I've never had a problem but I also use an exturnal mixer so I never touch the programs gains.

Post the shots if possible and ill try to help out if I can

Have you tried setting your gain setting to "Auto+Remember"?? Thats what I have mine set to so it takes it to 0, but if I change it it will remember the changes made.
 
What is the quality of your media?
 
When the gain knob is at the far right but isn't displaying 0.0, just right-click on it to match the gain from the opposite deck.

Other solution is to edit the Skin XML file and replace "gain" by "power_gain".

I changed "Gain" to "power_gain" . Now it does not change the gain. either way. What am i missing?
 
The Power gain skin does allow me the gain I need however I have a different skin that I use.
 
Quality of the media is 192 ripped from Audio grabber and videos ripped with DVD shrink. i use Auto + Remember for the gain.

There is a program called Platinum Notes which will analyse your files and tweak any which it things are wrong.

It does more than adjust the volume though, so read up on it first.

Pro mastering software would probably cost you more than you paid for VDJ!
 
Anyone know the XML wording to create power gain on my current skin.?
 
" POWER_GAIN"
 
"POWER_GAIN" does not work. We I put that in the gain knob loses its function. IT will not increase or decrease the volume of the song.
 
Bro this is straight from the WIKI, you could always check yourself too, http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript_verbs.html .............anyways here's what it says,

gain : set the gain, up to -30dB in the negative, and up to +7.5dB in the positive.
power_gain : set the gain, allowing up to +30dB in the positive.
match_gain : set the gain to match the other deck.
