I had a test gig last friday at a club in my hometown. Basicly the crowd was pleased, but the guy that owns the dj recruit thingy told me that he didn´t like that I used the hercules dj console mk2 as he thought that was cheating. I was like wtf ?!? He wanted me to either get timecoded cds, which I´ve now fixed.

What do you people think of playing at a club with mk2 ?

Dude.... tell him to lick a dog's anus...

I can play all night long with a mouse...

It don't matter what you use, if it it gets the crowd to move....you can use a mouse, if you can rock the house....those that say it's cheatin', know that they've been beatin'....just rock em every day, keep using virtual dj.................hey this rap stuff is pretty easy!

WasabiTech. Tell the guy 'bite me'.

Its a stupid argument about that its cheating. If you can beatmatch, it dont matter what you use. So much more to DJing than vinyls or CDs. I know DJs that complained about the CDJ1000 mk3 because it had a bug that prevented them to beatmatch by using the BPM display. If that isnt cheating, then I'm George W. Bush...

I can drop the needle anywhere in a track with beats and have it matched within 3 seconds. I dont have to prove to anyone that I can mix. I consider beatmatching a waste of time that is unfortunatley necessary. (First you must stand before you run...)

Im not ashamed that I mix my records by pressing SYNC. I spend all my time in arrangements and finding where to mix out and in, and levels, etc. The result is smooth and professional. Why the hell not? Thats what the crowd wants anyhow....

Guys :) Tell you this :) U´re freaking wonderful :) made me laugh :D but seriously u all have a point there :) To tell you guys another funny thing the dude dropped by my job this weekend and told me to give him a call this week..and again I was like wtf ?!?! seriously, I didn´t give a flying fuck about what he said...just pissed me off..anyways thanks for your support :) always appriciated :)

now I´m going to tell you guys a joke :) since I´m bosnian this one is about them..

The bosnian dude to the doctor:

Doctor, how come that when I always screw a swedish girl my nose starts to run and my eyes hurt like hell.

The doctor responds: Well, you´re probably not imune to the peppar spray :P

DJZare-

What type of set up are you using with your timecode CD? What are your computer specs.

My set up consist of 2 Denon S3000 CD Turntables, Hercules MK2 as a soundcard and a Dell P3 866MHZ with 256MB of memory. The problem i'm have is a slight delay when scratching a file using my timecode set up. 1. it seems slightly delayed and is very annoying and 2. it does not sounds clean.

When i'm using a regular CD in my Denon S3000 it is very clean and very responsive. I guess i'm trying to figure out is it my computer causing the delay because of its weaker specs? (for some reason this does not seem like the case) since it is not a stutter or glitch more just like a latency issue. I'm not sure if this is because of hardware (i.e. computer or hercules MK2) or its just the way VDJ is. I like VDJ and dont want to switch to Serato but its looking like i have to if i want to do a decent scratch.

I seen videos on youtube where it seems as if people have it working but its hard to tell since youtube does not sync the audio and video to begin with

as it allows you to do audio , video and KJ

Misleading... it will do audio, Video, and it will play karaoke files... But it will not allow you to KJ....It is not a good karaoke tool. It has no rotation manager, and the dev staff doesn't care to listen to any of us. They just pawn us off by saying someone needs to write a plugin for it.. That's not what we need, a plugin won't do it... Also, it has no real pitch change device.. the pitch plugin is worthless.

So I'll second that... It's awesome for audio, and Video, but I don't know why they insist on misleading people into thinking it's a karaoke program.. for karaoke, it's worthless..

However, on a Side note.... the dev team obviously is more concerned about features Professional DJ's and KJ's will actually use on a daily basis... Due to massive pressure from the DJ community, they hired additional staff to develop Cover Flow!!!!....... cover flow rocks! My audiences have told me that my DJing has gone to a whole new level since I got those grainy little incorrect and virtually unreadable record cover pictures scattered all over my record collection that I took years to get organized.... Make sure you leave THE DEFAULT turned on... That way you'll be sure to clutter up all of your drives with little jpeg files...

Karaoke obviously isn't ever going to be a priority.. it would be a simple add on, and please hundreds of Registered users, but I guess the millions of screaming cover flow fans were the priority...

Check out Sasha's article in remix magazine about how cover flow helped catapult him to international stardom! It's Hotttt!

just my 2 cents!

/sarcasm

I use VDJ two or three times a week on my mobile show using audio and video. Some pictures in my blog.
Ewout

It sure would be nice for VDJ to have more karaoke tools built in, but I'm makin' it work with the ol' paper slips and side list thang. I guess if they did put the additional features in, they'd have to call it VD(K)J - hehe.

I use the key-change plugin and it works fine, but there hasn't been much demand for it, really.

Definitely well-sutied for DJing tho...I use it exclusively. It's made my mobile rig MUCH lighter for both types of gigs! All I need now is more blasted work :P

Hell, I use it at every show... Before I got VDJ I used Traktor and thaught I would not use anything else. I loved that software and it's features. Theres still a couple of features I wish VDJ would incorporate but I'm living without it.

Ok guys, I have been reading for the last few posts of all kinds of problems and bugs, and right now, I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

lol,

LIke, I have used Mk2 herc on a gig, i have used the tcv's on a gig, and i have used the tccds on a gig. The only one that helps me greatly was the herc mk2.

And i'm very sad to report that I have tried everything in regards, on how to fix this mess with the tcv's and tccd's. I have tried all settings, and things like that, and it just bothers me alot.

here is my setup:
core 2 duo processor,
2 gigs of ram
160 gb harddrive
windows xp media center (OS)
hercmk2
M-Audio Connectiv (which i use to connected turntables or cdjs)

vdj 5rev5,

do you think this latest version of vdj is the reason why i hear so many pops and clicks in the song?

I have tried adjusting the latency, i have tried leaving the preset fader either on fastest or best quality, checked off anti-skip, anti cue, tried all modes of relative, absolute, and smart, still nothing,

ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT, lol,

is it the version of vdj? is it the soundcard of the m-audio?
I need your HELP

thanks,

JC FLORES

did this thread get way off topic or am I in a bad twilight zone episode? I thought we were talking about crappy owners that care more about what you use than what you can do with it.....where did the karaoke complaints come from.......
