We don't need no *&^%$#@*(& light, we know how to make our own. We can light up all of Canada, like the sun. We are the keepers of the light. I mean, some of our border states may catch some fallout, but puck it, everybody has to sacrifice a little bit. What was that flash? Those Ray-Bans, will not help you.

They say by 2020 oil will be gone...
That's 100% false.
We will see.
I urge all of you to see this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population
Take a look 1950's World population and today we are over 6,6 Bilion people. You will understand what I mean ;)

(1) Oil is a RENEWALBLE resource...it is a by-product of the heating and pressure forces occurring in the earth's magma every second of every day and it is released through cracks in the crust and continually re-fills resevoiurs long thought dead (several oil fields in Texas they thought were tapped out in the 50's and 60's now have more oil combined than the Saudi's)....you were all brainwashed in school (how many Dinasaurse lived in the deserts of Arabia)?
(2) Oil prices will stay high as long as BP (which actually has controlling interest in all 5 of the major oil companies) wants to be greedy
(3) The oil companies can continue to be greedy as long as we the public let them.....electric car technology for 100mph and 250 mile range vehicles of current design (i.e. the current hyundai or lexus or mercedes) exist now, but the car companies are in bed with the oil companies (heavily invested in oil stocks. Most car manufactures make more profilt from their oil investments than they do selling cars) so they won't produce it without a heavy price premium that most people can't afford.
(4) To do a complete 3000sq.ft. home in solar to be completely off-grid only cost $15,000 during initial construction (less than 10% of the median home cost). With the average $200 per month home electric cost you would have that invest ment back in 75 months of savings.....and then no electric bills for life!
Instead of setting up HOA's than mandate what color fence I am allowed to have...how about HOA's that demand ALL new construction be completely solar! Fed-Ex is doing it with all their facilities, the ones in California actually produce enough excess electricity back to the grid they will recoup their constuction cost within 5 year....not counting the savings of NO electric bills!!!!!
It is OUR fault as a group of citizens because we ar too fat and happy with our current and convenient energy sources and too scared to get involved and make changes that may include some short term sacrifice of getting used to new technology. One person getting solar does not bring the cost down enough to make it practical....but 100,000 new home starts in Arizona every year certainly is enough to bring the cost down on individual set-ups significantly so now retro fitting is affordable.
The politicians through the use of the media steer the publics thinking away from the REAL issues (new energy, clean energy, community involvement and control) and try to make us think steriods in sports is important. I say ANYONE who was on the committee for the steroid issue should be voted out of office and any politician that will not MANDATE HUGE tax cut incentives for manufacturing and purchasing AFFORDABE home solar and electric car technologies should NEVER be voted in....its' time for US to tell the politicians what the issues are, not the other way around. Forget the cost of oil and gas....I want AFFORDABLE individualized off-grid electrical...it is possible, the current PROVEN technology exists it just takes enough people to DO IT to bring the costs in line.
It's too late for 2008 but I say make 2012 the "Electric Election"....if by 2012 there is not a law that mandates EVERY CAR manufacturer MUST have the option of an electric drive system capable of 100mph and 250 mile range between charges available AT THE SAME PRICE AS IT'S GAS OPTION we IMPEACH EVERY politician that doesn't vote for it and we continue to do so until it gets passed.
