Jason,
At this time, you can only use one Denon DN-HS5500 in midi with VirtualDJ. As for the Korg Zero8, I'm not using it's internal soundcard nor am I doing timecodes. I'm using a Rme Fireface 400 for a soundcard. I do use the Korg Zero8 in midi. I've assigned some midi controls on it to make it easier for me. I only touch my laptop for searches, Everything else I do with the Korg Zero8 and the Denon DN-HS5500.

Thx. I was pretty sure I already knew the answer. Is there a big difference between your sound card, and my maya44. Have you had any luck using your korgs midi for the sampler section of cue. I tried programing it, using my korg and my akai mpk49. not a lot of luck.

Shrunk my Vista Drive on my Toshiba laptop, installed XP on the new partition, reinstalled VDJ on the XP OS. First indications are everything is 100% better. No lockups, the platter can spin without losing MIDI connection. While not perfect yet, it is definitely usable, whereas I did not feel good about my setup in Vista at all.
Thanks,
Taipanic

Hi,
Did the new version of VirtualDJ (Ver5.2.1) fix the problem with the spinning platter on the Denon DN-HS5500's ????

Do you realize that this thread is from 2008, and you are asking a question about version 5?

Along this same thread for the current day...
Has anyone used the 5500 with version 8? Can v8 support two players to work within one unit (it took a lot of work with v7)?
If so how does it perform? I have two of the 5500's but have not used them with v8 yet (I currently use the Denon 3900's).
Maybe one of these days I'll give them a try.

If your talking about using them in midi mode, don't even waste your time and more then likely its never gonna get fixed, which I was told in so many words.
The way the midi is sent from the platter is the problem. Not that VDJ couldn't fix it but I guess its more hassle then it worth.
So yeah it sounds and plays like doo doo, don't waste your time.
Time code yes, midi no.

I recently tried using just one HS5500 with VDJ 8....
Although not perfect, playing one track through the audio interface using MIDI control is, well, fair/reasonable.
As soon as you introduce the second layer (deck) though, it all goes pear shaped.
